Black Hawk County-- Due to recent heavy rainfall, several Black Hawk County (BHC) departments are monitoring high water on county roads and in county parks.
The BHC Road Department is monitoring secondary roads that are underwater, or are at risk of being underwater, depending on the amount of rainfall received in the next
few days.
BHC Conservation has closed Black Hawk Park to camping due to high water and will monitor opening areas of the park for daytime use as the weather allows.
Residents are reminded to never drive or walk through standing water, regardless of whether a road is officially closed or not. Even if the water on the roadway looks shallow, it can do damage to the vehicle, compromise the quality of the roadway, or contain other hazards.
