Winter Storm Impact on County Roads
Black Hawk County (BHC) is expecting snow accumulation and drifting to be an issue on county roads beginning as early as Friday, January 12 and through the weekend, based on recent forecast predictions. The BHC Roads Department is asking for the public’s patience while they work to clear county routes.
During a snow event, Black Hawk County plows will be deployed, as needed, 7 days a week from 5 a.m. – 5 p.m. Paved roads are the first priority and will be running all weekend as needed. Motor graders will not be deployed while snow is falling and/or blowing and drifting is occurring.
