The Community Development Fund was developed by the Board of Supervisors in 2014 to support growth within Black Hawk County, and was previously funded through excess landfill earnings. Grant awards are contingent on the amount of funds the Board of Supervisors have allocated each year during budget.
To increase community impact, the Board addressed the unprecedented fund requests by supplementing the FY24 budgeted amount with funds from the fund balance.
