Black Hawk County, IOWA - 

Public voting is now open in a contest to name three Black Hawk County Road Department snowplows. Road Department staff narrowed down over 200 public name submissions to 15 finalists for public voting. Voting is open through December 13. The winning names will be announced on December 17.

 The three contest winners will receive an official “I Named a BHC Snowplow” t-shirt and have their choice of one of the following prizes:

    • 4 VIP Tickets to Hartman Reserve Maple Syrup Festival
    • Coupon for 4 Snowshoe Rentals at Hartman Reserve Nature Center.
    • Weekend cabin stay at Hickory Hills Park to be redeemed in 2025.
