Counties in Iowa handle all elections, from local to national.  Did you know that you can register to vote online?

Apply for Your Passport at the County Recorder's Office


The Black Hawk County Recorder's office is authorized by the United States
 government to serve as a Passport Acceptance Facility.  We process over 3000 applications each year.  Passport hours are 8:00 - 3:30 Monday - Friday.  We are also able to take the passport photo in our office.  Information can be obtained by calling 833-3012 or click Here for further passport application information.

VA Director Yolando Loveless is always ready to communicate with Black Hawk County Veterans through outreach events.

Black Hawk County Veterans Affairs strives to assist all Veterans/Dependents in some way, whether it be providing emergency assistance with basic needs through relief funds, or helping to file claims for Federal VA benefits (service work), or just providing information and referrals.

Black Hawk County Veterans Affairs has a vehicle available to provide local transportation for Veterans.
